In 2022, Serge joined the board of East West Bancorp, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed company and the largest independent bank in Southern California. As a member of the nominating/governance and compensation committees, Serge leverages his comprehensive grasp of Chinese, US, and global corporate landscapes to guide strategic initiatives.
Beyond his board commitments, Serge holds positions as chairman of the board of trustees and co-founder of Asia Society France, vice chairman of the board of ImpactWayv, Inc., and board member of Synergos and Asia Society in New York.
Serge stands as an esteemed pioneer who spearheaded the transformation of the public relations industry in China, elevating it into a thriving and highly sophisticated business sector. For nearly eight years, Serge served as vice chairman of Omnicom Group, Inc. Over his tenure, he successfully managed a portfolio of companies in which Omnicom was invested. He also added value in C-Suite roles with Edelman and Interasia Group.
Serge has been actively involved with the World Economic Forum, addressing pressing global challenges at the prestigious conference in Davos. Additionally, he has been honored with the Legion d’Honneur and received accolades from national governments and international organizations for his contributions to business, philanthropy, health, culture, and education. Serge’s dedication to making a positive impact led to his appointment as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.
Serge’s academic foundation includes dual degrees in sociology and oriental languages and civilizations from Sorbonne University in Paris. He has further honed his expertise through studies at Taiwan Normal University and the Political Institute in Taipei. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and French.
